Let’s face it: we all dread the “ab circuit” part of our weekly workouts. However, a strong core is one of the best defenses against developing back pain and maintaining optimal performance in athletes.
Do this core strengthening circuit 2 times per day and hold each position for 10 seconds if you can:
- Bird dog left (on all fours, stretch out left arm and right leg and hold for 10 seconds)
- Bird dog right (on all fours, stretch out right arm and left leg and hold for 10 seconds)
- Front plank (on elbows, core tight, and back straight (not hunched))
- Right side plank
- Left side plank
